The business
VA Fabrics was started with a clear ambition: a significant presence in the textile and apparel sector across both national and international markets. Tamil Nadu sits at the centre of India's textile manufacturing, and being based in Chennai puts the business next to that supply base rather than an email away from it.
Character merchandise
The group's character properties give VA Fabrics something most textile businesses do not have: its own licensed designs. The Grandys range — t-shirts, water bottles and school bags — is produced in-house, using artwork from VA Classtoon Broadcast and VA Comics.
That means a licensee is not buying a print file and hoping. The character, the artwork and the garment supply all sit inside the same group. The FMCG retail side of the group now runs separately as VA Retail.
